1.4 million BCM of materials were loaded, hauled, placed and compacted utilising Caterpillar 793 and 777 Dump trucks, EX3600 Excavators and Caterpillar D10 Dozers to construct the outer TSF walls. To facilitate faster construction, the construction material was moisture conditioned in situ with a “rice” paddy type of operation that ran 24 hours a day.
Cape successfully ramped up from 0 to 70 fully operational Team members in scheduled rosters, including on-site VOC, in 6 weeks.
This included the on boarding and structuring of 8 sub-contractors for the life of the project.
The project was completed with a TRIFR rate of Zero. No medically treated injuries, No restricted duties cases and No Lost Time Injuries.
Full environmental compliance achieved with no recordable incidents.
