Long-haul fibre and underground conduit installation in remote mining environments.
Cape Dunstans delivered an $8 million fibre-optic cable installation package for Mineral Resources Limited’s Onslow Iron Project.
The works followed the project haul road and included cable-route preparation, hard-ground excavation, long-haul fibre installation and multiple horizontal directional drilling installations for communications, electrical and supporting infrastructure.
Project delivery included:
Long-haul fibre-optic installation along the Onslow Iron Project haul road, including minor clearing, material relocation and ripping through hard ground.
Horizontal directional drilling and installation of DN160 PN16 HDPE conduit across the project alignment.
HDD installation of 110 mm communications conduit for the Telstra line and 150 mm electrical conduit at the TMF.
