Power & Communications Project: Rio Tinto (Paraburdoo WA)

The overall scope of works was to improve the capacity and reliability of the electrical supply to Paraburdoo assets, achieved through the replacement of the existing 11kV reticulation with a 33kV system. Scope also included the replacement of existing 11kV transformers with 33kV units of equal or greater capacity.

Cape completed the supply and installation of conduits and pulling pits for Ring 1 and Ring 2; installation of cable for 33kV Main Ring 1 and Main Ring 2 and Installation of Fibre Optic Cable for Main Ring 1 and Main Ring 2 by means of Horizontal Directional Drilling and Trenching. Installation of concrete works, transformer pads and concrete pits was also part of the scope.
