Integrated mine water storage, pumping and large-bore pipeline infrastructure.
Cape Dunstans delivered the $33 million Dam 6 and associated mine water infrastructure package at Newmont’s Boddington Gold Mine.
The project created a seven-gigalitre water-storage facility supported by an integrated network of pumping stations, electrical and control systems, civil works and large-bore pipelines.
Project delivery included:
Five pumping stations incorporating more than 15 pumps, together with associated electrical works and control-system integration.
Construction of a 2,000 m³ panel storage tank and completion of the supporting civil and bulk-earthworks package.
Installation of more than 30 km of large-bore HDPE and mild-steel cement-lined pipeline in sizes up to DN800.
