Connell Avenue Reinforcement

Gas Project: ATCO (Martin WA)

This project required a 900m long DN110mm SDR17 PE100 S2 AS4130 gas main to connect the existing medium pressure gas mains along Connell Avenue, Kelmscott. The new gas main connects the existing end of main near Pries Park Road to the existing end of main near 152 Connell Avenue. This reinforcement maintains network pressures above the minimum allowable pressure within the Kelmscott area.

The new PE gas main works included the design, procurement, route selection, excavation, backfill, installation and commissioning of gas main reinforcement. The bore design of crossings works incorporated design, procurement, construction, testing, installation and commissioning of gas main within the nominated sections of horizontal directional drilling, including an unnamed creek crossing (~70m) under Connell Avenue. The tie-in at the northern end of main was to the DN100mm PVC while the southern end connected to DN80mm PVC. The new PE gas main has an MAOP = 70kPa.
