Greg Hutchinson is an experienced civil engineer and executive leader with almost 30 years’ experience across engineering, civil construction, infrastructure, utilities, mining and resources contracting in Australia and internationally.
A Curtin University civil engineering graduate, Greg began his career in project delivery roles before progressing through senior engineering, estimating, project management, business development and operational leadership positions with leading contractors including Macmahon, Mouchel in the United Kingdom, Thiess, Ertech, NRW and BGC Contracting.
Throughout his career, Greg has led large-scale construction, mining and infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on safety, operational performance, commercial discipline and building long-term client relationships. He is known for developing high-performing teams and creating practical, collaborative solutions in complex project environments.
Greg joined CAPE in 2018 as Chief Operating Officer and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2019 as part of the company’s leadership succession plan. Under his leadership, Cape Dunstans has continued to strengthen its capability across the resources, infrastructure and utilities sectors, with a focus on sustainable growth, operational excellence and meaningful Indigenous participation.
As CEO of KCU, Greg works closely with Kurtarra and the broader team to support business growth, community engagement and long-term opportunities for Indigenous people and businesses across regional Western Australia.
Greg is passionate about developing people, fostering strategic partnerships and creating lasting value for clients, communities and stakeholders across the regions in which Cape Dunstans operates.
